Ceiling in Strasbourg's EP plenary collapsed

Through Jan's EUBlog I just got to know that the ceiling in the European Parliament's main plenary chamber in Strasbourg has collapsed last Thursday. This news has now been confirmed by EUobserver.

I wonder why the news spreads only now...
